On the quest for a lighter and more efficient DJ setup, don’t overlook powered speakers. Powered speakers are clean and very efficient. Plus, you don’t have to haul around those heavy amps. That by itself cuts down the amount of equipment to carry. Also, you now have two amplifiers that you can power a set of non-amplified speakers for a big venue. Peavey is one of my favorite brand names. They are easy to repair and maintain, and have a high reliability record.
Here is a review of the PVDJ 115P 15”
The PVDJ 115P powered enclosure is bi-amped, providing 300 Watts to the subwoofer and 100 Watts to the tweeter. This protects the tweeter by separating the lows and improves the volume-before-distortion capability significantly. Peavey's exclusive DDT™ Distortion Detection Technique prevents the power amp from clipping without compromising the signal's tonal integrity, protecting not only the amp but the speakersas well. An LED signifies when this automatic protection circuitry engages.

This rugged enclosure also features three inputs with separate volume controls, two line-level inputs and one XLR & 1/4" combo microphone input with 30 dB pad to allow for multiple types of sources.
